

ABOUT ME
Dawson Coleman is the Instructor of Saxophone at William Jewell College, Teaching Fellow of Saxophone at Interlochen Arts Camp, and the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the University of Missouri-Kansas City's saxophone studio. He has been recognized nationally as a soloist by the North American Saxophone Alliance, Music Teachers National Association, U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” among others. He has performed concerti alongside the Florida State University Philharmonia, Polymorphia, and Interlochen’s Intermediate Wind Symphony. He has been featured on Classical KC (91.9 FM), at Kansas City Fashion Week, in the Kansas City Symphony's Petite Performance Series, and has performed with Kansas City Civic Orchestra and the New World Symphony.

Coleman maintains a thriving high school private studio in the Kansas City area with students regularly placing in the top chairs of district, state, and national honor bands. Recent high school graduates from Coleman's studio have earned top scholarships to pursue music in higher education. His connections span the midwest, with recent collegiate masterclasses at Eastern Michigan University, University of Central Missouri, Missouri State University, and the University of Kansas.

Coleman holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Florida State University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. A proud JLV Ambassador, he performs exclusively on JLV ligatures for their responsiveness and vibrancy.
